…and suddenly everything falls into place.

It was Kurt’s first trip back from New York. It was Winter Break and he really, really didn’t understand why he was so nervous as he flew back home, Rachel sitting next to him on the plane.
He and Blaine hadn’t done anything more than talk since he’d left for the city in August and it was killing him. He wanted Blaine back in his arms - but then, what if things were different? Awkward?
As they exited the plane and then went down to baggage claim, Kurt’s stomach flipped. Rachel was chatting away, unaware. He scanned the crowd, looking for familiar faces: like his dad or Blaine. As he was looking he suddenly heard a breathless yell.
“Kuuuuuurt!”
Kurt turned and saw Blaine, running toward him. He didn’t think twice - he dropped the back he was holding and opened his arms, just in time for Blaine to jump into them, his hat fall backwards off his head.
“I’m home!” Kurt found himself saying, voice muffled by Blaine’s neck.
“I miss you,” said Blaine, still breathless. Kurt realized that Blaine had wrapped his legs around Kurt’s waist and though Blaine was smaller than him, he was slightly off balance.
Blaine laughed and detangled his legs from Kurt, landing on the ground, but not taking his arms away from Kurt’s neck. They pressed their foreheads together, not kissing or talking, just being together - touching. Kurt felt foolish for his previous thoughts. This was just the same as before. Nothing between him and Blaine could ever be awkward.
